UPDATE TO BETTERCOAL GRIEVANCE MECHANISM

Bettercoal has completed a thorough review of its Grievance Mechanism to better reflect relevant international standards and best practices. The revised mechanism improves clarity, procedural transparency, efficiency, and accessibility for all stakeholders.

Key updates include a more clearly defined scope and eligibility criteria, enhanced procedural steps, and an adjusted reporting structure to reflect our transition to the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI). We’re also working to improve accessibility by introducing an online submission form.

The revised mechanism was developed following consultation with the Bettercoal Technical and Advisory Committee and the Bettercoal Programme Committee. Following the integration of this feedback, the updated mechanism was formally approved by the Board of Directors.
